Birthing Twins

by Lisa Rose Uhlmann

Twin Birthing question: for those who have had a natural birth for their twins, I just want to find out how did you prepare for it? And did it all go to plan pretty much? Were there any glitches during the labour and if so how did you get around it? I'm 22 wks with identical twins & am starting to consider all the possibilites so would love to hear some twin birth stories if anyone would like to share? :)

Labor and Delivery of our Twin Girls
by: Charlene from Having-Twins.com

Hey Lisa... I planned to give birth naturally, my obstetrician and midwife wanted to induce me at 38 weeks. At 37 and a half weeks I still wasn't booked in for my induction? at 38wks 2days I naturally went into labor which I was very happy about (didn?t want to be induced as I've heard of horribly painful and long labors). I felt the labor coming on early that day, so thought I'd quickly go do my grocery shopping as I thought I wouldn't have time to do it later. The pains weren't bad just niggley. Then at about 4pm they were getting worse (the pain) so went to hospital. The girls were both head down, so the doctors broke my waters and 3 hours later my girls were born. Everything for me went perfectly, we went home the next day. This was my second pregnancy.
