When to cut back at work

by Stephanie H.
(Bellingham, WA)

I'm 12wks pregnant with twins and am constantly tired and am wondering when to cut back at work (part time instead of full time). I also have a small hobby farm, a 3yo son, husband and 2 disabled parents I take care of while at home. To get a nap more than once a week is unheard of, and more than 8 hours of sleep a night is a rare occurance. I work in Human Resources and am the in-house trainer.

My husband said "whenever you feel like you need to" but then I feel like I'm being a slacker because I want to rest more when we still need the money. I'm not talking about quitting work, just cutting back.

I also feel like my work quality has greatly diminished and I'm frustrated at my inability to keep on top of things...

cut back now
by: Anonymous

I completely quit work at twelve weeks because I was a hair stylist and always on my feet and needed to rest. It was too much. My energy has picked up now being in the second trimester but with twins your just exhausted really fast. I would cut back as much as you want. I have two other small children and there is no need to overdo it. Better to take care of yourself.
